It was a win-win as two of some of our favorite nations played for the football (soccer) championship.
Both teams played exceptionally well, but it was the David and Goliath story with the smaller Japanese team defeating the larger American team to become the world's champion team.
Great work to both teams and thanks for an exciting game that the AINEO teams in both the United States and Japan enjoyed!

EQ Update- From Tokyo IT Team- AINEO Networks
22 March 1427pm
======
As of Tuesday 22 March, everyone in Tokyo is back on schedule. There remains some issues with power outages as TEPCO works to regulate the amount of power consumed. Milk, bread, and gasoline supplies related to rationing or shortages have been alleviated. Trains back at 80% of their daily number of runs according to our team.
All AINEO Secure systems have been running with no outages.
An AINEO survey of 11 large multinationals on Monday afternoon (national holiday) found all companies back to normal operations from Tuesday. The AINEO team remained in Tokyo and continued to provide service through the disaster, the nuclear issues, and the restoration of services and business.
There are still a number of tremors in the Tokyo area.

EQ Update- From Tokyo IT Team, AINEO Networks
18 March 1123am
======
The earthquakes and aftershocks continue in Tokyo at lesser level of power but continue in frequency. Train lines are running at around 70-80% the capacity causing delays and overcrowding. Rolling government imposed power outages persist around the Tokyo area. None seem to have occurred in central Tokyo at this point. Gasoline is scarce as well as milk and bread due to hoarding and logistics issues.
AINEO Team is working mostly from home with VPN phones spread around the area. Some AINEO engineers are attending to work at the sites.
MNCs are operating with skeleton crews in Tokyo. Many expats have gone to Osaka, safe haven third countries, or home countries. Japanese companies are working as usual with some staff staying home. The fires at the nuclear sites in Fukushima seem to have come under control.
Through 25 March, AINEO will be supporting Japan operations locally and through our US offices.
Monday is a national holiday in Japan.
Thank you for using Asia's best IT engineering team.
Sincerely,
The AINEO Support Team- Tokyo

EQ Update
16 March 1050AM
=========
We seem to have a serious situation here with the earthquake damage to the nuclear reactors in Fukushima. From the news, we really don't know the exact situation. But we do know what is going on in Tokyo.
Some companies have sent people to Osaka, banks have moved to their disaster recovery centers in Western Japan. Some expats with children have left Japan due to the concern about radiation for their children to HK, the US, or Korea. Most multinational companies are running skeleton crews in their Tokyo offices and having everyone else work from home. Japanese factories seem to be closed while companies in Tokyo are operating as usual despite the difficulties with trains and power outages. Japanese companies seem to operating normally.
The news may be making a bigger deal out of it than it is, however if you have the ability to take a little vacation away from Tokyo this week, that might be a good idea at least through Friday, 18 March. Let's be monitoring the situation as well.

1323pm 15 March
AINEO's management team, upon consultation with the local management teams of our partners, have decided to send our teams home from sites and postpone any new installations for the day. The decision was made due to the uncertainties in the elected government's information, and the explosions at the nuclear reactors in Fukushima.
Thank you for your understanding as we want to protect the health and welfare of the Tokyo team. We are monitoring the situation and will continue to update our website.
Sincerely,
The AINEO Networks Tokyo Team

Corporate teams may continue to be affected by train delays caused by scheduled black outs. This may bring people late into the office as train lines are not running at 100%.
The ground continues to shake and they are battling a nuclear power plant cool down issue in the North. We have checked with specialist in the power industry outside Japan as well as counseled with the management of several partner sites. We think this is something blown out of proportion by the news and there is no need to evacuate Tokyo. More information
here. Please let us know if you insights in this area.
AINEO team was able to arrive safely, deliver service, and depart from all sites on Monday (14 March). We will continue to operate normally on Tuesday 15 March.

With the current tragedy in Japan due to the earthquakes and following Tsunami's, there is a lot of concern about the nuclear plants overheating. With a media that is clearly anti-nuclear, and a government trying to cope one may not be sure what to believe. The best judgment of any situation is understanding. Below is an article explaining how the nuclear situation probably transpired and how it affects us. The short of it, don't worry about getting radiated if you are in Tokyo.

Our technical teams have been able to reach all sites and are providing support. Unfortunately, the employees at our partner sites have not all been able to make it in due to transportation route suspensions of rail and subway lines.
We are working to enable remote access for those people needing access to company services such as file servers. Most have access to webmail, however telephone network issues continue to slow down communications.
